Personalized Environment for Skimming Documents

چکیده

We developed a support system for skimming documents on computer screen. The system has interface for document readability from computer screen and recommends personalized summaries. The interface of this system is introduced the visualized effect based on combining fisheye view and overview+detail; the focus points of fisheye view are selected sentences by using the original extraction algorithm, the overview show the automatic generated table of contents, and the detail display the documents in a segment unit. Users can read interactively, changing a focus point and the other point on the system with a mouse. For recommending personalized summary, the system works by matching user preferences, which are the title of theses and used history of the focus points selected by using the system, to other users in making recommendations. This environment support us to skim documents on computer screen.
